About Us

The Houston Girls Cotillion (HGC) was established in the late 1960's, making it the original modern Cotillion in Houston for young ladies in high school. The HGC enjoys a long history of providing a social dance outside of school for sophomore and junior girls attending both private and public schools in the Central and West areas of Houston.

The HGC has continued to grow in both schools and attendees. The West Houston Girls Cotillion (WHGC) was formed to accommodate a fun, safe and inclusive dance for St. Agnes Academy, Houston Christian, St. Francis Episcopal, and Lamar High School.

The West Houston Girls Cotillion Dance will continue the honored tradition for the Sophomore Girls (Class of 2027) and Junior Girls (Class of 2026).

The West Houston Girls Cotillion is an independent social club and 501c3. Eligibility of membership is defined by the schools attended but has no affiliation with a school or school district.
